Player Sprite: Grubin Collab

While I have other projects, I'm also currently working on a collaborative effort with . We're working on a little game project together bit by bit, and I'm to do the graphic work. So anyway, this is the balloon-like character I came up with to serve as the player sprite. At the moment, Grubin made the player movement in-game to be somewhat floaty on purpose, so in my mind, the character design needed to look light and puffy or something.
I confess I did quite a bit of experimenting with this character (and I only just decided to add a little mouth/lip before uploading this example), trying to give it sort of an imperfect hand-drawn look. The outline has a purpose in the design, and it wound up making the whole thing look kind of cell-shaded which I think is neat-ish.
I used a combination of the pen tool and paint brush to make this sprite. It'll be tricky to animate, but I think it'll turn out well in the long run. Hopefully Grubin will like it.
